Genesis - fifth to sixth day

So following the creation of plants as food supply and the Sun, Moon and stars to regulate time, now on the fifth day God created the animals. We suppose that since the animals are created in a day, just as the plants, they are created as adult animals, rather than infants. Also note that they are designed to pro-create after their own kind. This is quite specific that the animals designed by God did not, is not and will not evolve into new species. The animals pro-create themselves "each according to its kind". There is no room to weave the hypothesis called Evolution into the His-tory of Creation.

On the sixth day, God created Man; male and female (v 27). His design was for Man to rule over His Creation including the animals but also plants and the Earth. So Man was designed to have authority over His Creation - the animals, the earth, but not over other men.

From verses 29-30, we see God's original plan is for us and the animals to feed on plants only, ie vegetarian. It does not mean we are wrong to eat meat today, just that it was not the original plan of God. It was not until when Adam and Eve fell, that the first animal blood was spilled - and that was not for food, rather it was a sacrifice as God used the animal skin to cover Man's nakedness.

And when God created Man in His image, it is clear it is not the physical image. So what else could we be in God's image, if God has no physical body. Well, God is (not has a) Spirit. So we are also spirits and our spirit being is in the image of God. Although since the fall, our spirit is corrupted, yet no one can argue that our spirit can be like the spirit of God sometimes. This can happen through love, peace, joy, ....kindness we show to others, see Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Hence the scripture says Christ is in us and we in him - so what this "in" mean is perhaps when our spirit is in tune, in sync with His Spirit, then the Glory of God shines from us as we dwell in His Presence.

--------------------------------------

20 Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw thatit was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day
24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[b] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed whichis on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
