We have been made as the filth of the world

1 Corinthians 13
being defamed, we entreat. We have been made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now.

Paul was referring to the believers being made the filth of the world and the offscouring of all things. They are being regarded as the lowest members of society. Yet the implication is that Paul would continue his work of preaching the gospel, even though this is the reason he is made filth of the world.

To preach the gospel, that is to make known to the world that the kingdom of God has come, may put us in similar position of being rejected by the society. The challenge is whether we would willingly do this for our Lord Yshua, knowing that these are the consequences.
