Therefore we make it our aim .... to be well pleasing to Him

2 Corinthians 5:9
Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.

There are many things we can do for God. Indeed, there are many He asks us to do for Him. However, in doing so, there can be a human tendency to lose focus from God to other things including pleasing the people, being pleased at our own work or just overly focused on the actual work. This leads to losing focus on the Lord Himself, who should be our prime focus.

Of course there is a practical need to be focused on the physical thing we are doing, whether serving others in church or community, etc. Hence it is all the more important to set aside time to have with God alone. At the start or end or in the middle of the day, make a break from the daily routine and call out to God.
