Narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life

Matthew 7:13-14
Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Basically, walking the life of Christ is not easy and Yshua has already told us that to prepare us. There will be various trials in our life and God allows this so that our character can be refined. Without trials, we will never grow to full maturity. A commentator said: "But a crisis will reveal whether or not we have been putting it (God's commands) into practice.
